RECO IR 12 APR
Government House
7th. March, 1911.
71812
Sir.
Referring to your Despatch No. 26 of
30th. January last, enclosing a letter from the mother of the
late Police Constable True, I have the honour to state that
as that officer had served in the Force for a period of
seven months only I cannot see my way to recommend any
gratuity to his relatives.
2.
The Captain Superintendent of
Police reports that True when enlisted in the Force declared
himself to be unmarried and that had he known the facts he
could not have enlisted him, it being against the rules of
the service to engage married men as constables.

LEWIS HARCOURT, M.P..
